This Thrift Bank’s Wealth Management Initiative Honored as 2026 LCF CSR Finalist
City Savings Bank (CitySavings) has been named a finalist in the Financial Inclusion category of the 2026 League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) CSR Medal of Recognition, highlighting its sustained efforts to advance financial literacy through Project ₱er@parasyon (Peraparasyon).
The recognition underscores CitySavings’ commitment to helping more Filipinos build stronger financial foundations. Through the program, the bank provides practical financial education to public school teachers, uniformed personnel, and local government unit employees across the country.
Since its launch in 2016, Project ₱er@parasyon has conducted more than 1,800 financial literacy sessions and reached approximately 138,000 beneficiaries nationwide. The initiative equips participants with useful knowledge on wealth management and responsible financial decision-making, helping them better manage their resources and prepare for the future.
“This recognition is a milestone we share with our dedicated CitySavings Bankers, whose active support and collaboration are instrumental in our commitment to fostering a more financially inclusive society,” said Paula Viegelmann-Ruelan, CitySavings assistant vice president and head of Reputation and Brand Management.
She added that the bank remains focused on delivering measurable and impact-driven programs that empower Filipinos and contribute to sustainable development.
Project ₱er@parasyon forms part of CitySavings’ broader Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives and supports Sustainable Development Goal 8, which promotes inclusive economic growth and productive employment. Through continued financial education, the bank seeks to strengthen community trust, improve economic resilience, and make financial inclusion more accessible to communities nationwide.
The LCF CSR Medal of Recognition honors impactful initiatives by corporations, enterprises, and corporate foundations across seven areas: Arts and Culture, Disaster Resilience, Education, Environment, Enterprise Development, Financial Inclusion, and Health.
