5.2 Magnitude Quake Rattles Ilocos Residents

Laoag City (PNA) — A magnitude 5.2 earthquake rocked the Ilocos Norte region at 8:44 p.m. Thursday with epicenter located at three kilometers northeast of Lapog, San Juan, Ilocos Sur. It has a depth of focus at 10 kilometers, a report from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Just when most residents are getting early to bed, Phivolcs advised an aftershock may occur anytime. The quake was tectonic in origin and there had been no damages reported so far.

Intensity V was also felt in Sinait and Intensity III in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur. (PNA) /LGA/RSM
