PCG: Over 1,000 Stranded in Ports Due to Typhoon “Hanna”

(PNA) — A total of 1,238 passengers have been stranded in ports as of 4:00 p.m. Thursday due to bad weather brought by typhoon “Hanna”, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said in an advisory.

On its official Facebook page, PCG said that those stranded in ports include 44 vessels, 83 motor bancas, and three rolling cargoes.

Meanwhile, 16 vessels and one motorized banca took shelter due to rough sea condition caused by the typhoon

A breakdown of those stranded include:

Coast Guard Central Visayas

*Cebu – 1,069 passengers, 14 vessels, 2 motorbancas

*Tagbilaran – 50 passengers, 8 vessels, 11 motorbancas

*Dumaguete – 37 passengers, 7 vessels, 62 motorbancas

Coast Guard Western Visayas

*Iloilo – 25 passengers, 3 vessels, 1 motorbanca, 4 vessels taking shelter

*Bacolod – 7 passengers, 8 vessels, 3 motorbancas, 11 vessels taking shelter

*Roxas – 1 motorbanca, 1 motorbanca taking shelter

Coast Guard Eastern Visayas

*Maasin – 50 passengers, 2 vessels, 3 motorbancas, 3 rolling vessels, 1 vessel taking shelter

*Ormoc – 2 vessels (PNA) LAM/ANP
