Cebu City Government Files Charges on City Hall Employees

The Cebu City Government through Mayor Tomas R. Osmeña formally charged Liezel C. Gonzaga, Hilario P. Alicante, and Sybil Ann C. Reambonanza with Administrative Offenses per recommendation from Cebu City Employee Management Committee on Inquiry (EMCOI).

Said personnel were found to be in conspiracy with each other in the under-declaration of SM Seaside Building’s Fair Market Value in Real Property Tax Declaration amounting to 2 Billion Pesos or more than 23 Million of Real Property Taxes not collected by the City per year.

Gonzaga was the former OIC-City Assessor, Reambonanza was the former Head of the Building and Machinery and Alicante who was re-assigned to other office at that time was the one who influenced Reambonanza to prepare the under-declared Tax Declaration. All personnel are now under preventive suspension for 60 days.
