Iloilo City (PNA) — There are no more tent classes in Iloilo’s Yolanda affected areas particularly in the worse hit fifth district.

Department of Education Information Officer Leah Belleza said thanks to the private donors like the Meralco and Pagcor who have donated classrooms for schools that have been damaged by typhoon Yolanda.

Belleza said that although she could not give the number of ongoing classrooms being constructed in Iloilo as of this posting, assured though that there are no more tent classrooms and that the backlog of classrooms is just minimal.

Belleza also said that the ongoing campaign signature against the implementation of the K+12 which started in Manila is because of the lack of understanding of some sectors of the advantages of the program.

She said that in Western Visayas, Grades 1 to 10 are now being implemented with the mass training of teachers for the new curriculum for Grade 4 to 10 now completed. (PNA) FPV/AJPETINGLAY/VLO/EBP
