Buy-Bust Op Yields Million Worth of Drugs

Two separate buy-bust operations led to the confiscation of over P5 million worth of illegal drugs in Cebu City on November 14 and November 15.

A buy-bust operation was conducted in Sitio Laray, Brgy. Carreta, Cebu City on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 after a text from a concerned citizen was received by “Itug-an ni CD”, a program of the Cebu City Police Office were people can anonymously report illegal activities.

Waterfront Police Station 3 identified the suspects as Ruel Paalam, a resident of Sitio Laray, Brgy. Carreta, Cebu City and Matteo Ochea, a resident of Tiera Cura, Brgy. Tejero, Cebu City.

380 grams of suspected shabu was recovered from the suspects with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P4,400,000.

Another buy-bust operation was also conducted in Barangay Pasil on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in which the suspect Bermar Udto turned over 105 grams of suspected shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,300,000.

Suspects will face charges in violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
