The move to continue the investigation of PO1 Julius Patac for the reported escape of a nursing mother in Consolacion Police Station recently, who was allowed to breastfeed her baby outside of her jail cell out of pity and as a sign of human consideration to the little infant’s need because the baby was at that time crying uncontrollably and which resulted to the escape of the mother in the process understandably deserves to be considered moot and academic because the woman is now rearrested and brought back to jail.

The serious effort exerted by the concerned policeman to recapture the woman should be given credit and forgiveness. And to find fault with him even if the escaped prisoner is now recaptured through the policeman’s serious effort is probably a case of misdirected overreaction which is already uncalled for. Continuing it would most likely be construed as a case of “personal persecution.”
